CSAO

John is excited to welcome Ondine Salgio of CSAO for a special pop-up shop at John Derian Dry Goods, 10 East 2nd Street, on October 23rd and 24th.

CSAO (Company of Senegal and West Africa) was founded in 1995 to promote fair trade and sustainable development and to showcase West African artisans. Discover a beautiful collection of cushions and accessories, each handcrafted by an all-women team of embroiderers in Senegal, celebrating their artistry and tradition.

Based in Paris, CSAO features its own Senegal-inspired collections of hand-embroidered cushions, home linens, and accessories. Central to their mission is L’Atelier des Rêves in Dakar, a collective of independent female embroiderers from diverse backgrounds, including survivors of violence from the refuge La Maison Rose.

This workshop is more than a workplace; it is a supportive family focused on solidarity, skill-building, and financial independence. Every entirely hand-embroidered piece represents one day of work for one woman, making each purchase a direct investment in their empowerment and future.

Join us on October 23rd and 24th to welcome CSAO into the shop.
